Westchester Dance Academy Excels at The Dance Awards and NYCDA National Competitions

The Westchester Dance Academy competition dance Troupe took to the dance floor for The Dance Awards (TDA) and the New York City Dance Alliance (NYCDA) last spring. Both annual national dance competitions highlight the best pre-professional dancers and provided our dancers a platform to showcase their skills and artistry.

And shine they did! Coming away from TDA, Westchester Dance Academy was named Best Ballet Studio. Our dancers also took first for Best Ballet Performance with “Beyond The Barre,” first for Senior Ballet with “Final Ascension,” first for Teen Small Group for “Beyond The Barre,” and fourth place for Junior Ballet with “Counterpoint.”

Watching our dancers take the stage at The Dance Awards and NYCDA national competitions was a moment of sheer pride and admiration. Their dedication, talent, and unwavering commitment to their craft have brought us to this incredible milestone - winning Best Ballet Studio was a honor and I couldn’t be prouder of our dancers. But what I am most proud of is how much they have learned and grown as dancers from this experience at The Dance Awards. It’s not just about the awards, but also about the personal and artistic development they have undergone. They truly embody the essence of artistry in motion, and their achievements at these prestigious competitions are a testament to their hard work and the magic they bring to the stage.
— Kelly Burke, Artistic Director, Westchester Dance Academy

"Beyond The Barre," performed by the Westchester Dance Academy Teen Small Group Troupe at The National Dance Awards won 1st place for Best Ballet Performance, 1st Place for Teen Small Group, and helped WDA win the national award for Best Ballet Studio.
