Westchester Dance Academy (WDA) is home to some of the most talented young dancers in the country, and our Competitive Dance Troupe is where the magic truly happens. This past spring, our dancers delivered awe-inspiring performances at The Dance Awards and NYCDA Nationals, bringing home top awards and proving once again that WDA is a powerhouse in the dance world.

For those unfamiliar, the WDA Competitive Troupe is an elite group of dedicated dancers who train rigorously to compete at the highest level. These dancers represent the academy at regional and national competitions, showcasing their talents in ballet, lyrical, jazz, and contemporary. Membership in the troupe offers dancers the opportunity to grow as artists, compete alongside the best, and receive invaluable mentorship from top instructors.

At The Dance Awards Nationals, WDA was recognized with multiple accolades, including being named Best Ballet Studio—a testament to our dancers’ technical prowess and artistry. Our Teen Small Group Ballet piece, "Moonlight", captivated audiences and judges alike, winning Best Ballet Performance and taking home 1st Place. Our dancers also stood out in lyrical and specialty performances, with "We Stand In Silence" earning Best Lyrical Performance, and "Should I" placing 4th in Senior Group and 5th in Senior Specialty.

We couldn’t be prouder of our soloists as well. Ava D’Ambrosio ranked in the Top 10 Teen Female Best Dancers, and Samantha Geller, Gillian Gordon, Victoria Oliveri, and Victoria Reith all placed among the top Best Dancers in their respective age groups.

At the NYCDA Nationals, our soloists continued to shine. Sheridan Kempton was awarded 4th place Mini High Score Soloist for her piece, "Becoming", and earned the prestigious Steps Youth Program Summer Intensive Scholarship. Victoria Oliveri placed 18th and Giada D’Eramo placed 20th, delivered exceptional performances in the Junior division.
